In the frame of the Interreg ADRION – Adriaticaves project a monitoring strategy has been developed for each project cave with the support of the University of Bologna. The aim of this document is to identify a specific and comprehensive strategy to investigate cave parameters and its natural and archaeological features in order to obtain a deep knowledge of the investigated environment and a better understanding of its fragilities. This strategy, which has been produced taking into account existing guidelines and scientific literature, is thought to be used as an important tool for the management of caves open to the public. It is divided into two main sections: the first one provides basic indications about the parameters and the cave features that should be investigated before and after opening a cave to the public, the second section is focused on each project cave, reporting a personalised strategy according to the specific cave characteristics. Here it is possible to download the first section of the Monitoring Strategy developed within the project.
